Julius Vigh, Jr., 88, of Kentwood, MI went to his eternal home Wednesday, November 30, 2022.  Born June 14, 1934 in Budapest, Hungary, he was the son of the late Julius and Margaret (Borbas) Vigh.  Julius completed grade school in Hungary and then immigrated to the United States with his family in 1950 where he later graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School, Calvin College and Calvin Seminary.  He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953 and served honorably until 1956.  Later that same year, a young Zita Gyene and her family also immigrated from Hungary.  Julius and Zita met and eventually wed and raised their family together.  Between 1964 and 1991 he pastored four congregations as a Christian Reformed Church Pastor.  Following retirement, Julius continued to work as a handyman; he enjoyed fixing things and could fix almost anything.  He loved spending time with his family and always ensured there was an annual camping trip in the mountains together, usually in Yosemite National Park.  He also enjoyed being with family and friends playing card games or Aggravation in his spare time.

In addition to his wife of sixty-four years, Julius is survived by his children, Susan (Bret) Kincaid, Sandra (Jeffrey) Ashton, Ronald (Jacqueline) Vigh, Barbara Vigh and Lorna (Matt) Mulder; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; siblings, Marge (Adrian) Vander Starre, Les (Sheila) Vigh, Elizabeth Polk and Kathy Vigh; sister-in-law, Sharon Vigh; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Vigh and Alex Vigh.

The family will receive friends at Ofield Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.  A funeral service with Military Honors will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
