IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julie E.
Henslee
September 14, 1962 – February 22, 2024
Julie Elaine Henslee-Wirick, known affectionately to all as Julie, was the life of life's party, and she made her grand exit in the same way she lived - with grace and a Pepsi in hand. Born on September 14, 1962, in Niles, Michigan, she wrapped up her joyous tour of the world on February 22, 2024, in Battle Creek, Michigan, departing peacefully of natural causes.
Julie's early years were spent in the charming town of Niles, where she charmed her way through the halls of Niles High School, graduating with a diploma and a treasure trove of memories. She was the kind of person who, even as a young girl, could find something to laugh about in the most mundane situations – a trait that would define her throughout her life.
She was the loving nucleus of a large and vibrant family. Julie is survived by her husband, James Henslee. She was a beacon of love for her beloved son, Bobby Jasper (Storm), and a superhero in the eyes of her grandkids, Cadience, Jatavia,Ryan, Bobby Jr., Lauren, and Clayton. Her sister, Mary Ann, will sorely miss her partner in sisterly shenanigans, and her stepchildren, James, Andy, Adam, Brittany, and Stephanie, will forever cherish the countless joyful moments they shared. Julie's laughter echoes in the hearts of those she leaves behind, a melody more enduring than any song.
Before Julie, Pepsi had no idea they had such a dedicated ambassador. She could turn any moment into a commercial-worthy sip of refreshment. She was also an aficionado of the horror genre, sharing her love for scary movies with her granddaughters, Cadience and Jatavia, who learned the fine art of jumping at just the right moment. Julie was a connoisseur of life's greatest delicacies – namely, junk food. Her philosophy was simple: life is short, eat the snacks. And she did, with a gusto that was both inspiring and slightly intimidating to snack aisles everywhere. Her love for music was as eclectic as her taste in food – she knew the power of a good beat and wasn't afraid to show it. Spending time with her son, Bobby, and granddaughter, Cadience, was her favorite pastime. She was the kind of mom who knew that time was the most precious gift, and she gave it generously, sprinkled with laughter and a dash of mischief.
Julie was loving, friendly, and courageous – words that only scratch the surface of her vibrant character. She didn't just face life's challenges; she drop-kicked them with a smile, turning each battle into a comedy sketch that left everyone in stitches.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Frederick Jasper and Ryan Wirick; her parents, Warren and Shirley Wirick; and her band of brothers, Bobby, Michael, Teddy, and Bill Wirick. One can only imagine the uproarious reunion they're having now, with Julie undoubtedly leading the charge, cracking jokes and pouring the Pepsi.
Julie Elaine Henslee-Wirick's story doesn't end here. It lives on in the laughter she left behind, the memories she painted in technicolor, and the lives she touched with her warmth and irrepressible spirit. As we say our goodbyes, let's raise a cold, refreshing glass of Pepsi to Julie – a woman who showed us that even in the darkest of times, a little humor and a lot of love can make the world a brighter place. Cheers to you, Julie, and may your afterlife be as joyous and laughter-filled as the years you shared with us.
