Obituary

Juliana “Julie” Day, née Rzadca, of Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Mark Day, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.

Julie was born in Wyandotte, Michigan, to John and Loraine Rzadca. She grew up in the Wyandotte community and carried with her throughout her life a deep appreciation for family, children, education, and the simple joys of everyday life.

Julie devoted 35 years of her professional life to the Lapeer, Michigan school district, where she worked as a speech therapist and as a first- and second-grade teacher. She had a special gift for working with children and took great pride in helping them learn, communicate, and grow. Her years in education touched the lives of generations of students and families.

Above all, Julie cherished her family. She was the devoted mother of Colleen Gole and her husband, Phil Gole, and the proud grandmother of Juliana, Graham, and Nathan. She took great joy in watching her grandchildren grow and in being a part of their lives.

Julie will be remembered for her love of family, her dedication to children and education, and the many years she shared with the people who mattered most to her. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry her love with them always.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Day; her daughter, Colleen Gole and her husband, Phil; and her grandchildren, Juliana, Graham, and Nathan. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Loraine Rzadca.

A private family service will be held in her memory.
