Judith K. (Judy) Saggio, of Byron Center, Michigan passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, who kept a vigilant watch over her during her final days. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on January 6, 1942 to Martin and Eileen (Hill) Hilbrands, who preceded her in death. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Frank; children, Randall (Colleen) McLemore, Juanita (Wayne) Hall; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas (Deb) Hilbrands, and Stephen (Elizabeth) Hilbrands; sister-in-law, Annamarie Saggio; special cousin, Joyce (Roy) White; and other dear family members and friends. Over the years, Judy was actively engaged in civic duty and community service, serving on the boards of the Ottawa Hills Neighborhood Association as president, Chatham Woods Condominium Association as vice-president and then president, Amber Creek North Condominium Association as president, along with her membership and participation on various committees at the Women's City Club of Grand Rapids and the Sweet House Foundation.
However, Judy's greatest love was spending time with her family: sharing a meal together, playing dominoes or a card game, or spending a summer afternoon underneath a bright umbrella on any one of Lake Michigan's beautiful beaches. Flowers and plants thrived under her care, and she would always plant a tree and perennials wherever she lived. We are already missing her soothing touch, welcoming smile and joyous laughter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross. Memories and condolences may be shared at ofieldfuneralhome.com.
