Obituary

Judie (Yats) Randels completed her earthly journey on April 13th 2020 after a long illness. Judie was born on November 3rd 1943 in Flint Michigan to her parents Max and Betty Yats. Judie was a graduate of Dye High School and did her undergraduate work at the University of Michigan, Flint. She later earned her Master of Social Work degree from U of M Ann Arbor.

Judie was the founding director of Love Inc. in Flint and worked with a number of other Flint area social service agencies. She also was a School Social worker with the Beecher School district and in her later years worked with abused and traumatized children through Catholic Charities. She was an active member of Court Street United Methodist for a number of years before moving to the west side of the state and joining the Allegan United Methodist Church.

Judie loved to travel and was an avid reader. She loved general sewing as well as quilting needlepoint and many other crafts. She loved family times with her children and grandchildren as well as other gatherings with friends and extended family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard (Dick) Randels. She is also survived by daughter Jennifer (Don) Winans of Davison; son Jim (Kris) Randels of Rochester Hills; two grandchildren Julia Randels of East Lansing and Max Randels of Rochester Hills. She also leaves her brother Marc (Janice) Yats of Venice Florida; sisters Gail (Bud) Dasher of Tallahassee FL; Janet (Ron) Donaven also of Tallahassee; sister and brother-in law Barb and Jack Cooper of Interlochen; sister-in-law Joan Miller of Tecumseh; and brother and sister - in-law Robert and Ginger Randels of Battle Creek, as well as many other cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Betty Yats as well as her husband's parents James and Georgia Randels.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Allegan United Methodist Church, or Crossover Downtown Ministry of Flint.
