Obituary

Judith "Judi" Ann Horan (nee DeVette), age 82, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation, Grand Rapids MI, after a brief stay at Trinity Health Hospital.

Judi was born on October 7, 1943, in Muskegon, Michigan, to Charles and Alice DeVette. Judi was preceded in death, by her parents, her brother Charles, “Chuck”, and her nephew Jason. Judi is survived by her daughter Kathy Link of Twining, MI, granddaughter Holly Link of Sanford, ME, her sister Charlene (David) Borgeson of Grand Ledge, MI, sister-in-law Barbara (survivor of Chuck) DeVette of Englewood, FL, and devoted friends Erika and Joshua Pickel of Grand Rapids, MI, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and friends.

Judi had a life-long career in the Real Estate, Lending and Title sector. She had a great respect and love for this work, having helped, likely thousands of clients over the 60+ years of her tenure. She loved making sure her hair and makeup were done just right, the consummate professional. She loved daisies, red roses, lilacs and butterflies. She loved peanut M&M’s. She loved giving gifts and making others happy. She loved watching all the pro-sport teams that ever originated out of Detroit. She loved laughing and British Comedy. She just LOVED. She is and will continue to be greatly missed.

Cremation will be taking place through Ofield Funeral Home, Kentwood, Michigan. Per Judi’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. Donations for the cost of her cremation can be sent directly to Ofield. Donations to Dégagé Ministries, Women’s Homeless Shelter, in Grand Rapids, are also appreciated.

“And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”. Revelation 21:4
