Judy (Van Ess) Kregel, age 77, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, March 7th, 2020. Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years Ken Kregel; and brother, Robert Van Ess. She is survived by her children, Ken Jr. (Kathy), Steve (Kacey), Dan (Michelle), Jeff (Dawn), and Heather (Eric) Holford; grand-children, Ryan (Allyson), Hannah, Clayton, Jesse (Nathan), Bailey, Ethan, Jeremy, Kyler, Cayden, Annaliese, Alaina, Adam, Zach, Noah, Blake, Parker, and Makenzie; 5 great-grand-children; sister, Linda (Bill) Schoen; brother-in-law, Don (Bonnie) Kregel; and many nieces and nephews. Judy will be dearly missed by her family of whom she loved a great deal. She loved being around her family and spending time with her grandkids. Judy worked at Fields Fabrics for 25 years. Judy was part of the Calvary Church family on East Beltline for nearly 60 years beginning when she married Ken in 1961. Ken and Judy loved to spend summers with family at Lake Michigan and School Section Lake. They also spent many spring breaks together in Gulf Shores. The Kregel family would like to thank the staff at Brookcrest for the wonderful job they did in caring for their mother. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 16th at 11AM at Calvary Church in the Chapel, 707 E Beltline Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3PM-6PM at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, MI 49508 and from 10AM-11AM on Monday before the service at Calvary Church. Memorial donations may be made to West Michigan Youth for Christ in Judy's memory.
