Juan Trevino, 66, of Jenison, Michigan passed away on October 6th at the Medilodge of Wyoming Nursing Home, Wyoming, Michigan. Juan Trevino was born in Alice, Texas to Praxedis and Emma Trevino on August 11th, 1952. Juan graduated in 1971 from Saginaw High School and was accepted at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, where he attended until his Sophomore year. After college, he worked as a Switchman Technician at Michigan Bell, later AT&T for 32 years. Juan excelled at many sports, including golf, bowling, and softball with many trophies to prove it. He was also a writer and self published a children's book and penned several poems. Music was one of his greatest and deepest passions. Juan's love for music was so strong that he would often create discs for people he loved because he wanted them to feel the same enjoyment. He also participated in co-writing and co-producing music at a recording studio with his son and daughter. His witty humor would leave people roaring with laughter and his card game antics would always create chaos at the table. Most importantly, he showed deep love and compassion to those he cared about and encouraged others to do the same. Juan, is survived by his wife Grace Trevino of Jenison, MI, son Juan Alejandro Trevino of Grand Rapids, daughter Liana Marie Trevino of Jenison, brothers Rolando (Camila) Trevino, Rene (Mariane) Trevino and Greg (Cindy)Trevino as well as sister Emma (Olaf) Gutierrez and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Praxedis Trevino and mother Emma Trevino, brother Lupe (Maria E.) Trevino and sister Lucinda (Higinio) Rangel. Funeral services will be held at Ofield Funeral Home located at 4500 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Grand Rapids 49508 on October 13th with visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and service immediately following with Father Chris W. Rouech of St. Pius Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations are asked to be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
