Joyceanne Judy Sass (Myers) 79, of Kalamazoo, went home to the Lord on January 7, 2023.
She was born June 23, 1943 in Fremont, Michigan to Walter Myers and Violet Myers (Leppen).
She attended Plainwell High School. She received her associates degree from Kalamazoo
Valley Community College and Bacholors degree in Social work from Spring Arbor College.
She retired from Department of Health and Human Services working in Nursing Home
Placement.
Joyce loved spending time with her family. She spent many hours with friends having deep
conversations over coffee. Music was always playing in her home. She was a good dancer and
an okay singer. She worked tirelessly as a political canvasser for several democratic
campaigns. She was very passionate about her party.
She loved Jesus and was very involved at Word for Life Church of God and Radiant Richland
church for several years.
Joyce enjoyed walking on Ft. Myers beach watching the sunset while she resided in Florida.
She liked traveling with her friends and taking road trips with her cousin Dixie.
She had a beautiful flower garden and loved nature.
She is survived by her son James D. Teter Jr., Daughter Shirley (Rick) Walden, daughter
Suzanne (Steven) Evans. Grandchildren Brad (Veronica) Waite, Austin
Waite. Joshua (Samantha) Root, Jacob (Kacie) Root, Jared (Jennifer) Root. Mackenzie (Jade)
Evans, Elijah Evans and Sunny Evans.
Great grandchildren Kassidee Root, Drew Lamb, Lydia Root, Kayden Root, Linkin
Root, Keaton Root, Vivia Root, Vanna Root and Myles Evans.
Siblings; Danny Myers, Jack Warren, Randy Warren, Ralph (Georgianna) and Barbara Myers.
As well as several nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, sisters Julie (Jerry) Kemp, Roberta (Birdie)
Warren, and brother Jody Myers.
Memorial service will be held at Word for Life Church of God
7022 E. Michigan Ave. Kalamazoo, Michigan at 5:00 Thursday 12, 2023.
Friends and family can gather an hour before service for fellowship.
Light refreshments after service.
