Obituary

Joseph Szabo, affectionately known as JoeJoe, passed away on October 6, 2023, following a tragic motorcycle accident. Born on July 11, 1988, in Kalamazoo, MI, JoeJoe was a beacon of joy and laughter for all who knew him. His personality and his sense of humor will be profoundly missed by his loved ones and friends.

Joe went to Otsego High School class of 2006. His love for music was infectious, and he never missed an opportunity to sing or dance. JoeJoe's humor was admirable, and he had an innate ability to put a smile on everyone's face. He was quick to make friends and had a heart full of love for so many. He was a man who made everyone feel like family.

JoeJoe's greatest joy and accomplishment in life were his children. To his son Corbyn and daughters Molly and Addalynn, he was not just a father, but their world. He also shared a special bond with his significant other, Courtney Lewis, who stood by him through thick and thin. Their shared laughter and love were a testament to Joe's caring and selfless nature. His mother Deb was one of his biggest fans and Joe knew that. His love for her was timeless.

He is survived by his mother, Deborah Stratton of Otsego, MI, and his grandfather, William Stratton, also of Otsego. Significant other Courtney Lewis, Son Corbyn, Daughters Molly and Addalynn of Otsego, MI. Nephew Mason A. Patrick. He also leaves behind his aunts Barb (Kenny) Veldhuis of Allegan, MI, and Christine (Paul) Stratton-Pritchett of Kalamazoo, MI, as well as his uncles Bill (Donna) Stratton and Randall Stratton of Otsego, MI. JoeJoe's many beloved cousins and friends will fondly remember his hearty laugh, warm hugs, and the joy he brought into their lives.

Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly Szabo, his grandmother Mary Jane Stratton (Willingham), and his uncle Mike Stratton. Their memories live on in the hearts of Joe's family and friends, as does his unwavering spirit and zest for life.

Joseph Szabo, or JoeJoe as he was lovingly called, was funny, loving, and selfless. His passion for life and his unwavering love for his family and friends will forever be remembered. His love for music, his sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone feel loved will continue to inspire those who knew him. His memory will live on in the laughter and joy he brought to every gathering, the smiles he put on people's faces, and the love he shared with his family.

JoeJoe's passing is a tremendous loss to his family and friends. His legacy of love, laughter, and music will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will be cherished, his life celebrated, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he left behind. Joseph "JoeJoe" Szabo was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed
