May 26, 2012 Najar - Joseph Najar, age 98, left this life on May 26, 2012 with his loving wife of nearly 64 years at his side and is now in the presence of the Virgin May and her son, Jesus. Born on June 10, 1914, he was a lifelong member the Catholic Church. Joseph honorable served his country in WWII. He Worked at McInerny Spring and Wire for 41 years prior to his retirement. Retirement years were the best years of his life. He had a passion for travel, Maps, Notre Dame Football and spending time with his grandchildren of who he adored. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon and Zakiea (Shalhoup) Najar, brother, Leo, and sister, Evelyn Hakeem. He s survived by his wife, Jeanette, son, Thomas (Barbara) Najar, grandchildren, Kari, Jordan and Sara Najar, brother Ammiel, sister, Adele Zainea and many nieces and nephews along with many dear friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1213 52nd St. SE, with Fr Godfrey Onyekwere, Msgr. Louis Stasker and Fr. Rock Badgerow presiding. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to Mass at the church. Contributions in Joseph's memory to St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church or Faith Hospice would be appreciated.
