John Thomas Wakeman, 76, of Lowell, MI, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. John was born on January 9, 1949, in Mt. Clemens, MI.
John had a deep passion for golfing; traveling throughout the United States to play at some of the world's finest courses. He was also known as an avid hunter and outdoorsman; displaying his big game trophies from picturesque adventures he had across the county.
He is survived by his children, Leigha (Brandon) Nichols, Krista (Jacob) Davenport, and Jason (Alaina) Wakeman; grandchildren, Charlotte, Harlyn, Brynleigh, and Farah; Sister, Mary (Ron) Grasman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Louise Wakeman, sister, Carolyn Miller, and nephew, Scott Miller.
John's family would like to give a special thank you to the staff members at Fountain View of Lowell. Your ability to provide care with such grace, humor, and understanding is truly admirable. We are so grateful for the unwavering compassion and dedication you gave our father over the last two years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 9, 2026, at the Roselle Park Resource Building 1010 Grand River Dr NE, Ada, MI 49301 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fountain View of Lowell direct care staff.
