John Edward Stocking passed away on February 13, 2023 after his courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in a small home in Grand Rapids to Robert and Elizabeth (Wise) Stocking on March 4,
1945. John was very proud of his job as a Lineman which he worked for 41 years. This allowed him to
travel and meet many friends. He loved his family and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in
need. The outdoors was one of his favorite places to be. You could find him wrenching on vehicles or
anything broken while wearing his notorious bib overalls. His knowledge was vast in many aspects.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Elizabeth; brothers Fredrick Stocking and Joel
Stocking; brother-in-law Ward Kortz; sister-in-law Connie Stocking. Survived by sister Patricia Taylor;
sister Judy Kortz; brother Dennis (Pamela) Stocking; sister-in-law Debbie Stocking. His children John
Stocking; Angela (Lonny) Lyford; Tamara (Sean) Sullivan; Stacia Kooistra. Many grandchildren and
several great-grandchildren.

The family will have a celebration of life later this summer with date to be determined. Please consider
