John A. Sobotta, age 71, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024.

He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on October 6, 1953 to Anselm and Phyllis Sobotta.

John is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Connie Sobotta, his children, John Sobotta Jr., Jeremy (Annika) Sobotta, Jared Sobotta, his granddaughters, Milena and Florence Sobotta, two sisters, Roxie Sobotta, Kay Brown along with extended family members.

He was preceded in death by parents.

Funeral services for John will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo St. SE, Kentwood, MI  49508 with military honors being accorded by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.

John's family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.

A private interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI at a later date.
