John Nathan Rainbolt, age 62, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 after a short battle with cancer. John was a strong believer in the pure gospel of Jesus Christ; "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.: John was an avid painter, primarily of WWII era war planes, in spite of having Parkinson's. Some of his paintings will be on display during his service. John was preceded in death by his father, Donn Harlan Rainbolt. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Julie Beth (Bosscher) Rainbolt, mother Alice Marie Rainbolts, siblings Deb (Gordon) Meekhof, Mark (Janet) Rainbolt, and Norm (Teresa) Rainbolt: nieces and nephews Amanda Meekhof, Brandon Rainbolt, Jessica (Zach) Munn, Amy (Matt) Ashton, and Sara Rainbolt and great nieces and nephews Zach, Brad, Alexi, Talon, Lynnie, and Sawyer. Thank you to the wonderful staff of Trillium Woods, who made John's stay calm and comfortable. Visitation and funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 21, at Grace Bible Church, 3715 Wilson Ave SW, Granville, with visitation starting at 11 am and the service starting at 1pm. A luncheon will follow.
