John LeeRoy Miller was born on October 20, 1968 to Jan and Charles Miller Sr. John lost his battle with Stage 4 Glioblastoma on October 27, 2026 at the age of 58.

John grew up in Greenville and attended Greenville High School. He later attended ITT Technical Institute where he got his Associates Degree. He was hired at L3 Harris while he was still getting his degree. He worked at L3 Harris his entire career, starting in the static lab and ending as a computer engineer specializing in cyber security. 

John is preceded in death by his mother, Jan Hammer, and his sister, Yvonne Johnson Hammer. He is survived by his children, Rie (formerly known as Allison) Miller and Abigail Miller; his father, Charles Miller, Sr and his stepmother, Peg; his brothers, Adam Miller and Charles Miller, Jr. He connected with his biological father from Alaska later in life and is survived by Lawrence Murray and his wife, Glynn; his sister, Sondra Reyes, brother, Joseph Murray, sisters, Lawrie Newbern, Lilly Gean Yancy, and Emma Murray. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. 

John enjoyed spending time with family while playing video games, smoking meats on the grill, eating spicy foods, playing pool, bowling, playing Magic the Gathering, and bike riding. 

There will be a small gathering to bury his ashes near his sister, Yvonne, at a future date that is yet to be determined.
