JOHN JOSEPH DOUGHTY, 59, of WYOMING, MI, passed away on February 13, 2022, at his home.

John was born in Flint, MI on October 23, 1962, and was raised by parents John and Virginia. John joined the Navy after high school as a medic and later worked in the medical and construction fields. He was a proud American, an avid outdoorsman, a handyman, a hard worker, a simple man who loved his kids and family, and a friend to all. John had a great sense of humor and was always the funniest one in the room, he was sure of it.

John is survived by his wife Charmaine Doughty, children Danielle Doughty (Marvale Jones), Sean (Melanie) Doughty, Chanda (Orlando) Escribano, Steven Doughty, father John Doughty, mother Virginia Jackman, sisters Christine (Andre) Marte, Cynthia (Larry) Ross, Carla (Dave) Goron, uncle William E. Doughty Jr., six grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by grandparents William E. Sr. and Elenor Doughty, stepmother Darlein Doughty and stepfather Louis Jackman and aunts Bette Retter and Nancy Smith.

A celebration of life will be held at the Casino Club of Grand Rapids on Sunday, February 27, from 3-6 pm. Cremation has taken place per John's wishes. Military honors will be rendered at the memorial. If desired, a memorial contribution made to the Grand Rapids Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
