In Loving Memory of John Dewey

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of John Dewey, who left us peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. John will be remembered for his strength, humor, and the deep love he shared with everyone who knew him. He found joy in fishing, grilling, and, most of all, spending time with his nine grandchildren — cheering them on in everything they did.

John was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Verburg.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Jody, and their three children — Bridgett Gallert (Jason), Ben Dewey (Stephanie), and Sarah Wind (Matt) — along with his nine beloved grandchildren: Kyle, Kennedy, Jared, Kaden, Rylee, Nicolas, Nolan, Emmersyn, and Finley, who knew him as a devoted and loving grandfather.

He is also survived by his siblings Dave Dewey, Larry Dewey (Luanne), Patty Anderson (Richard), and Jerry Verburg, as well as his in-laws Rick Cain (Robbin), Barry Cain (Nancy), and Pat Cain (Kathy).

A casual open house to celebrate John's life will be held on Thursday, October 30th, from 5:00–8:00 PM at The Villa, located at 3594 Chicago Dr SW, Grandville, MI 49418.

Family and friends are invited to stop by, share memories, and celebrate the wonderful life John lived. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
