John Roger DeWaard, age 87 years was born 10/13/1928 and died 4/18/2016. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 64 years, their children; Paul (Mary) DeWaard, Susan (Craig) Bruggink, Donna (Charles) Harmon, James (Mary) DeWaard, grandchildren; Leighann (Thomas) Odenbaugh, Kaitlyn (Ian) Jones, Alyssa (Jay) Lukiewski, Jeffrey Bruggink, David Bruggink, Andrew Harmon, Katie Harmon, Erika DeWaard, J.D. DeWaard, Emily DeWaard; great-grandchildren; Jonathan, David and Rosie; and sisters; Leona Klooster, Elsie Greydanus, and Mary Miller. After graduating from Calvin College, John served in the US Army, followed by a 37 year career in marketing with the UpJohn Co. He loved his family and enjoyed photographing family life. He was rarely seen without a book, could fix anything, loved sailing, restored a wooden Chris-Craft, and was always content watching sunsets over Lake Michigan.
