John David Dean, Sr., age 54, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

He was born on January 13, 1971, in Grand Rapids, to John & Carol Dean.

John was a mechanic and managed Superior Tire and Auto in the Grand Rapids area for many years until health issues arose.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, laughing and telling stories, he could shoot the bull with the best of them. He always looked forward to Deer hunting season, working on Motor vehicles and troubleshooting mechanical issues, he was darn good at it! He liked to watch westerns, John Wayne movies were his favorite but Gunsmoke, Bonanza and Grizzly Adams were favorites as well. He was a gentle kindhearted, a very giving man unless you cross the line then he was a force to be reckoned with!  John loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for giving him everlasting life and peace and comfort in the toughest times. He will be missed by a multitude of family and friends until we see him again in Heaven.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Rita M Dean; 11 children, John D Dean Jr., Joseph and (Mariah) Dean, Andrew Dean, Gloria Dean, Timothy Dean and (Emmalane Drewer), Abigail Dean, Michelle Dean, Jean Dean, Olivia Dean, Philip Dean, Nathaniel Dean; 7 grandchildren, Amelia, Violet, Seda, Esra, Bohden, Carmella, and Finn; siblings, Thomas (Stephanie) Dean, Steve Dean, Scott Dean, Edward (Kimberly) Dean, Mary Barnes, Beth (Chris) Krogman, James (Karyn) Dean, Mark Dean, Ruth Stockton

He is preceded in death by his father, John W Dean, mother, Carol G Dean, and father-in-law, Trinidad Montalvo Sr.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Life Community Church, 9206 West Peck Road, Greenville, MI 48838 with the Service starting at 1:00 PM and Luncheon following 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
