John Kenneth "Ken" Boersma, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Grand Rapids on October 30, 2019. He was born on March 29, 1932 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Garret and Hilda (Van Mulligan) Boersma. Ken was famous for his shiny cars, excellent singing, and storytelling. He enjoyed leading Bible studies and sharing his testimony about grace, forgiveness, and restoration through his Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Boersma (Vroom), children Philip, Lori (Tom) Rader, Lisa (Mark) Verstraete, Bruce, Karl, and Julie (Kevin) Dagen, numerous grandchildren, and brother Fred Boersma. A funeral service will be held at 7th Reformed Church in Grand Rapids on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. Ken will be laid to rest beside his parents at Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
