Joan Leone Mervenne, age 60, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

She was born on December 1, 1961, in Yankton, South Dakota, to John and Marilyn (Olofson) Kutilek. She grew up in Lawrence, Kansas. Joan loved to cook. She was always trying out new recipes and usually had the television tuned to the Food Network. She had a vivacious personality and was always smiling. She could talk to and make friends with anyone she met.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Mervenne; children: Jesse, Mike (Heather), Mollie (Dave) Lockard, and Kelly (Brian) Darling; grandchildren: Mackenna, Chloe, Blayke, Cameron, Brooke, Ashtyn, Brayden, Lauren, and Ava; mother, Marilyn Kutilek; brothers: William (Joan) Kutilek, Bob (Katie) Kutilek, and John Kutilek; as well as lots of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Kutilek; grandson, Austin; and parents-in-law, Leonard
and Lucille Mervenne.

A Celebration of Joan's Life will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Ofield Funeral
