Joan Marie (Gummo) Hill, born on January 14, 1934 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late James & Nellie Gummo. Joan passed away at age 84 on July 17, 2018. Jo was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth "Kick" Hill, the love of her life! She was an Incredible Mom, Nana, Grandma and friend! JoAnn was preceded in death by her siblings, Jim Gummo, Gerrit Gummo (Emily), Carolyn Tacoma (Allan), Art Gummo; Susan Gummo. Jo is survived by her children, Keith Hill (Pam) Carol Peterson (Marty), Carl Hill (Kathy), Harold Hill, Judy Boomgaard (Mike); Sister in-laws, Thelma Gummo & Elaine Gummo; 11 grandchilden, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Jo was very active and always on the go! She was a Senior Calibrator at Lear Siegler/Smith Industries until retiring in 1993. Jo was very involved with the UAW Region 1D retirees. She was the past president of Local 330 Retirees. Jo was always chairing different events & planning fun bus trips for them to go on! Nana as her grand kids called her, loved crocheting her famous kitchen towels, doing arts & craft shows (with her latest craft). Jo loved to read, go to bingo & the casino with her girlfriends! Our mom, most of all, loved spending time with her friends, kids & grand kids at her cottage! We would like to say a special Thank you to Hospice of Holland, American House of Jenison & especially the caretakers at Willowwood! Friends and family are invited to attend Jo's Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mamrelund Lutheran Church, 4085 Lutheran Church Road, Kent City, MI 49330
