Joan Halstead (Packer), age 79 of Sparta, passed away Friday, October 9, 2026. 

Joan graduated from Kelloggsville High School in 1965.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Evelyn (Laubach) Packer, sisters Dixie Hall and Janet Rathburn, daughter Penny Warn, grandson Robert Warn Jr, great granddaughter Hailey Warn.

Joan will be missed by her children Deanna (Steve) Postal, Darcy Mann and Nanette Case, her grandchildren Rhene, Cassandra, Chelsea (Austin), Hannah(Jared), Jacob, Emma(James), Tomas, Jack and Gracie, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Many will remember Joanie as funny and someone who loved her kids and grandkids. She loved Christmas, watching her grandkids play sports, casino trips, cooking, baking and ice cold beer.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank the ladies at Cranberry Park Assisted Living and Faith Hospice for their care and compassion shown to our Mom.
