Joan Gummere age 81 of Grand Rapids, MI passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Marion Bronner and her brother James Bronner. Surviving are her children; Jeff and Laurie Gummere, Doug and Debbie Gummere, Kim and Mel Holloway, Cindy Peterson, Michelle and Janine Gummere, Rachelle and Terry Prowoznik, Brenda and Dennis Rauschenberger, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Joan was a long time employee of Grand Rapids Public Schools. As a single mom raising seven kids, she worked hard for her family. A visit with Joan was always entertaining. She enjoyed reading, her art work, and visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thank you to all the people who touched our mother's life in a kind way. A memorial service for our mother will be Friday, August 14, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Fountain Street Church. Memorial contributions may be made to The Grand Rapids Public Library and Federik Meijer Gardens.
