Jimmy Darrell Deckard passed away on Wednesday morning in his sleep with hospice care at the Majestic Care Nursing Home of Battle Creek MI. Darrell was sick for last 5 month and needed care. Darrell loved his family though he had no wife or children. Darrell family was his brothers and sisters and all his nieces, nephews some close friends.
Darrell loved riding motor cycles. Loved being outdoors camping, fishing, canoeing, taking hikes. Especially going to Alaska with his nephew Steven Deckard. Darrell also lived in Yakima Washington. You might say he was free spirit. Darrell lived in Missouri until he was 4 yrs. Then moved to Kalamazoo Michigan 1953, Yakima Washington sometime in the 80's and back to Kalamazoo Michigan 1991 until his death.
Darrell loved going to bars, drinking, playing darts. His favorite watering hole Duck Inn, VFW Comstock, and frequents the Blue Dolphin, Burger King for a great hamburger with strawberry milk shakes, Country music. Loved family gatherings and was a master of dart throwing, love pitching horse shoes. Darrell worked for Harroun BL Sprinkler Systems of Kalamazoo Michigan until 2000 then retried. Darrell did help out the family any time he could. By moving, yard work ext.
Darrell had no problem speaking his mind or telling it like it is. His words are very color full. On the week before he passed Darrell did tell the hospice and Steve that he had a great life! I did what I want when I wanted and F*** the world.
Jimmy Darrell Deckard is preceded in death by: Parents Lige Deckard, Maudie Jane Holcomb Deckard from Kalamazoo Michigan. Brothers: Gene Deckard, Ervin Deckard both from Kalamazoo Michigan. Sisters: Eula Norman Yakima Washington, Elva Willis, Edith Beach both from Kalamazoo Michigan and 2 Nephews: Daris Norman Yakima Washington and Fred Beach of Kalamazoo Michigan.
Jimmy Darrell Deckard is surviving by: 2 Brothers Steve R. Deckard (Stephanie) of Kalamazoo Michigan and Roberts Deckard (Sally) of Wellston Michigan and many nieces and nephews.

There will not be any services at this time. The Family is asking for donations to the funeral. Call Simply Cremations 616-455-6838 instead of flowers.
