Born: September 2, 1953, Grand Rapids, MI; died April 12, 2016, Grand Rapids. Jill is survived by her loving husband, James Borcherding of Grand Rapids, and her stepson, Marc Borcherding of Portland, Oregon. She is predeceased by her parents, Ray and Joan Bosworth McClow of Jenison. She is also survived by three sisters: Karin Orr, Grand Rapids; Lisa McClow (Cris) Berry, Madison, Wisconsin; and Amy (Jerry) Jurewicz of Jenison; a brother, Michael McClow; an aunt, Carol Bosworth of Jenison, and a host of beloved cousins, nephews, and nieces. Jill McClow Borcherding had the amazing ability to be many wonderful thins at once. She could be generous and deeply compassionate at the same time she was hilariously funny. Keenly perceptive, she sought the best in everyone's character, but also knew how to move forward with forgiveness and grace. She was beloved by her large, extended family for her way of nurturing relationships. Her friends admired her designer's eye in creating everything from culinary masterpieces to lovely landscapes. A woman of many gifts, Jill was an avid follower of current politics and an advocate for social justice. Spiritually, Jill was a believer with a strong, inclusive faith, and now she is in a place made even more beautiful by her presence. A memorial service will take place later this spring.
