Obituary

Jerry L. Smith of Byron Center passed away on Sunday, September 18th, 2022. He was born to Fester and Helen Smith on July 3rd, 1945.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grand father, brother, uncle and friend. Family was very important to him. He loved nothing more than having coffee and visiting with family and friends. Jerry graduated from South Christian High School. He worked for Meijer for 45 years between working in the warehouse and driving truck.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judi Smith (Behrens). He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Beverly Smith and Maxine Voetberg. His children, Kimberly (Geno) Hathaway, Kirt (Stephanie) Smith and Kevin (Marcy) Smith. His grandchildren; Morgan Hathaway, Maddie (Cody) Bultsma, Chloe (Jake) Heyboer, Eli Smith, Peyton Smith, Sawyer (Delaney) Smith, Allyson (Jon) Wassink, Brayden (Allyssa) Smith, Logan Smith, Patricia Smith, Kizza Smith and Landon Smith. Great grandchildren; Marlee Bultsma, Esther Wassink, Gabriel Wassink, Baylor Smith and Bresslin Smith.

Per his wishes cremation will take place. His family invites family and friends to a visitation on Tuesday, September 27th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Heritage Christian Reformed Church in Byron Center. Memorial contributions can be made to Amiina Ministries. Service Details. Visitation
