Jerry Bishop, a devoted husband, father, and proud Navy veteran, peacefully passed away on June 3, 2024 at the age of 88.
Born in Muskegon, Michigan to John and Elsie Bishop, Jerry grew up with a sense of duty and honor. His years of service in the Navy were a testament to his commitment to his country and his fellow servicemen.
Jerry was defined by his love for his family. He cherished every moment spent with his beloved wife of 53 years, Gail Bishop, and their four children. His unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
An avid lover of lake life, Jerry found joy spending time outdoors enjoying nature with his family. Whether it was camping at Woods and Waters, driving his pontoon on Fine Lake or simply enjoying the beauty of the wilderness, he found peace in the simplicity of these moments. He also found great joy in the art of poetry. His verses, filled with depth and emotion, reflected his innermost thoughts and feelings which led to the national publication of two poems.
Professionally Jerry excelled in the field of lithography, where his talent and passion for his craft led to starting his own business. His meticulous attention to detail led to his nickname, "Magic Man", and left an indelible mark on his work and inspired those around him.
Jerry's legacy of love, loyalty, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us every day.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Gail Bishop, their cherished children, Kathryn (Randall) Becker, Kenneth (Mary) Bishop, Cheryl (Jerry) Johnson and Kimberly Zbikowski, as well as nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Rest in peace, dear Jerry. Your memory will forever be a beacon of light in our lives.
