Jeremy VanDyke, 30, passed away from Melanoma on July 25, 2017 at his in-law's home in Dorr, Michigan. Born September 13, 1986, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was the son of Jeffrey and Vicky VanDyke. He attended Thornapple Kellogg High School. He was employed through Teksystems and placed at Magna where he worked as an IT Help Desk Technician for the past 2 years. Jeremy will be remembered for being a courageous, kind-hearted, selfless, and at times a stubborn man. He was known to be a jack of all trades and a life-long learner (with a strong interest in physics and astronomy). He was an avid coin collector, enjoyed target practicing with his father, and had a passion for travelling. Jeremy is survived by his wife of just under 3 years, Ashley VanDyke; his father, Jeffrey VanDyke; his mother, Vicky VanDyke; his maternal grandmother, Jackie Lubberts; sister, Sara Linington; brother-in-law Matt Linington; father-in-law, Ronald Henderson; mother-in-law, Jane Henderson; sister-in-law, Jenna Rector; brother-in-law, John Rector; nieces Chaelaray, Shyanna, Arianna, and Imogen; nephews Jamie and Urijah. The family would like to thank the staff at the Metro Health Cancer Center, University of Michigan Hospital, and Faith Hospice for their expert and compassionate care of Jeremy. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12 at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church (9408 Wilson Ave SW, Byron Center, MI 49315) in Byron Center, Mich. Visitation - 9:30 a.m. Memorial Service - 10:30 a.m. Immediately following the service, we will hold a processional to Jeremy's grave site for his burial. Luncheon - Noon at St. Mary's Visitation North Dorr Hall (4790 22nd St SW, Byron Center, MI 49315) Jeremy's favorite color was blue, in remembrance of Jeremy we are asking that everyone wear something blue (any shade).
