Jennifer Elizabeth Leech, age 53, of Holland MI passed away March 7, 2022. She was born August 21, 1968, in East Grand Rapids to Philip Leech and Carolyn James. Jennifer is a 1986 graduate of Spring Lake High School. She enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1988, and proudly served her country.

After her active duty service, Jennifer worked for the VA in Seattle, Washington and Des Moines, Iowa. She returned to Michigan and received her Associates Degree as a Medical Assistant, and worked for Mercy Hospital.

Jennifer was a proud member of the Willard G. Leenhouts American Post 6 in Holland MI. She loved assisting other veterans applying for VA services and benefits. She wants to be remembered for the love she had in her heart for others, and for the kindness she showed to those around her. Jennifer enjoyed writing in her journal, reading, singing and dancing to music.

Jennifer was sometimes quirky. She rarely missed sending friends and family a card celebrating special occasions. And never should somebody challenge her with the details of family events…she NEVER forgot a place and time.

Jennifer fought a courageous battle with brain cancer and be greatly missed by all who knew her. The staff at Medilodge in Holland were amazing in their care of Jenny, and the wonderful people at Hospice were equally compassionate.

She is survived by her parents, Philip & Betty Leech of Spring Lake, and Carolyn & Tom James also of Spring Lake. Brothers Greg (Amy) of Vermont and their daughters Maria and Ruth, and Jeff (Vicki) of Spring Lake and their children Madeline, Emma and Jack. Stepbrothers Keith Wilcoxson and Tom James Jr, and stepsister Beth James.

Aunt Susan Seime and cousin Carolynne (Randy) Allaben with their children Sarah (Kyle) Boren and John, and cousin Wally Hook. Aunt Jane (Jeff) Kalin with cousins Emily (Chris) Fields and Michael. Uncle Nick (Gail) Leech and cousin Melissa (Jim) Erhardt with their children Andrew and Addison, and cousin Denise Shaughnessy with her children Megan
and Gavin. Cousins Dustin Seime, Josh Seime, Ian Seime and Brook Seime. Very special family friends Sally Graves, Amy Graves and Emily Liprandi, and her dear friend Ruth Holthuis. Jennifer was preceded in death by her Uncle John Seime. She loved her cats Cosmo, Sergeant, Tiki, Milo, Sterling and Cecil.

A memorial service will be held later this summer. Internment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta MI with full military honors. Memorial gifts may be sent to Willard G Leenhouts American Legion Post 6, 10820 Paw Paw
