Mr. Jeffrey Alan Thompson (known as "JT") was born January 16, 1954 in Grand Rapids, MI to June Collins and Cora Butler. He departed this life on January 25, 2019 at Spectrum Health Hospital at age 65. Jeff attended Ottawa Hills High and graduated in 1970. He was an athlete who played basketball and he was a "mathematician." He attended Alpena Community College in 1971. Jeff left for Houston, Texas and with the help of his friend Ralph he started his career as an electrician. He moved back to Grand Rapids and was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness. During that time he studied and received his Journeymen's license. Jeff was a humorous, charismatic and loving man who always put God first. Jeff was the definition of protector of his family. He went above and beyond. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 12 pm, with a visitation 1 hour prior from 11am to 12pm at New Dimension Victory Center (1253 Ramona St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507)
