Jeffrey E. Foreman passed away at Butterworth Hospital on December 18, 2019. (Named at birth David Eugene Smock of Ypsilanti, MI.) He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Donna Foreman (Magnussen), his 8 children Bryan (Katrina) Foreman, Katie (Matthew) Long, Shelby Foreman, Andrew (Emily) Magnussen, Eleah Magnussen, Ben Magnussen, Summer Foreman, and Libby Foreman, as well as 2 grandchildren Charlotte and Maci. He is also survived by his sister Wendy (John) Chain. He was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Tammy Kaye Foreman (Scott), his father, Charles Foreman, and his mother Donna Dinsmore (Gitchell). Jeffrey was a graduate of Mona Shores High School Class of 1972 and a Communications Major at Grand Valley State University. A veteran of the United States Navy as a member of the Underwater Demolitions Team, now known as Navy Seals, Jeffrey proudly served his country and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Jeff worked in many careers throughout his life including a sawyer for the State of Michigan, and Medical Courier. He was a member of the Freemasons of Michigan. Jeffrey exemplified the Freemason's mission "Love your brother, help those in need, and seek truth" every day of his life. He had the gift of affirmation and was generous with his willingness to support, mentor, train, and defend those whom he called friend, brother, son and daughter. He was a follower of Jesus Christ and was prepared to enter into the next adventure that God has prepared for him. Jeffrey spent the last four years of his life providing care and enjoying the love of his infant granddaughters whom he and Donna adopted in July 2018. We will remember Jeff at a Celebration of Life Service on January 18th, 2020 at 11:30 am at the Grand Rapids Masonic Temple, 233 Fulton St E, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 He shall be forever missed and remembered in our hearts and minds. Rest in peace, Papa.
