Jeffrey Michael Chandler, 67, of Caledonia, Michigan, passed away with family by his side on
September 27, 2022 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jeffrey was born June 30, 1955 in Ann Arbor,
Michigan, son of the late Donald (Czachorski) Chandler and Joyce (Nanry) Chandler. He
married Cheri (Lemke) Chandler August 22, 1981 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mount
Pleasant, Michigan.

Jeff grew up in Livonia, Michigan, graduating from Stevenson High School in 1973. He studied
Hospitality Management at Central Michigan University and obtained a Culinary Arts degree
from Schoolcraft College. His career in the hospitality industry spanned more than four decades
during which time he was instrumental in opening multiple hotels and restaurants and crafting
dozens of upscale menus for various eateries in the Midwestern United States for Sachs
Management Corporation. Most recently, Jeff's career was with Michaels & Associates, a Grand
Rapids food broker. Jeff's work ethic and commitment to his profession was unparalleled. Jeff
also enjoyed sharing his culinary talents with his family and friends throughout his lifetime
whether it was preparing a holiday meal, throwing a tailgate party at a University of Michigan
football game or writing and preparing a gourmet menu for the annual Chandler Brothers Deer
Camp. Surely, Jeff's favorite place on earth to share sustenance was with his family and friends
gathered around a bonfire at Lake Margrethe in Grayling, Michigan. Jeff was an avid reader and
boater, and he enjoyed playing cards, particularly cribbage and euchre. Jeff's enthusiasm and
generosity will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jeffrey is survived by his beloved wife Cheri (Lemke) Chandler of Caledonia, son Joshua
Chandler and daughter-in-law Lindsey (Dusen) Chandler of Byron Center. Jeff was "Da" to the
two lights of his life, beloved granddaughters Brynlee Elaine and Avery Michelle, also of Byron
Center. He is also survived by brothers Greg (Marla) Chandler of Grayling, Tom (Karin)
Chandler of Elk Rapids, John (Jaye) Chandler of Chelsea, sister Jennifer Chandler-Conner
(Robert) of Beal City, brother-in-law Steve (Lori) Lemke of Mount Pleasant, sister-in-law Kris
(Darrell) Taylor from Holt, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his
parents Donald and Joyce Chandler, maternal and paternal grandparents.

Cremation has taken place, and visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, October
13 at the Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI. The family will
also receive visitors from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, October 14 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic
Church, 1253 52nd St. SE, Kentwood, MI. A funeral mass will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at
the church.
