Obituary

Jeffery James Brown passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends during his final moments.

Jeffery was born on September 25, 1987, in Anaheim, California, to Kenneth and Elaine (Crawford) Brown. Despite living with a heart condition his entire life, Jeffery never let it define him or limit his determination. Stubborn and strong-willed, he had a vibrant spirit and a love for life that couldn't be contained. He often joked that he took after his dad.

After attending Renaissance High School in Plainwell, Michigan, Jeffery proudly earned his diploma in 2020. He had a passion for the outdoors and spent much of his time fishing, hunting, working on cars, plowing, and doing whatever he could to make an extra buck. Jeffery was known for his love of loud music, good food, and all the little things that brought him joy.

Above all, his greatest pride and joy was his son, Noah. Jeffery treasured every moment with Noah—whether they were wrestling, playing Xbox, or simply spending time together, Jeffery always made sure to be present and engaged. He had a playful heart and was truly a kid at heart when it came to Noah.

Jeffery is survived by his beloved son, Noah Brown (Ashley & Carrie Green) of Otsego, MI; his mother, Elaine Brown of Lake Havasu City, AZ; his brother, Kenneth Brown (Jourdan) of Aliso Viejo, CA; two sisters, Charlene (Russell) King of Greer, SC, and Amanda Rippy of Anaheim, CA; and four nephews, David & Collin King, Jase & Kruz Brown. He also leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, and close friends who were like family. Among those closest to him were Nicole Johnson, David Johnson, Eric Cramer, Glenda, Sarah, Samantha & Stephany Pillars, Amanda Smith, and many others who held a special place in his life.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Lisa Brown; his stepfather, Jerry Sarver; his grandparents, Jean Abnet, Joan Graves, Troy & Lou Brown; his uncles, Steve Whitaker and Rick Brown; his aunt, Karen Cramer; and cousins, Rhonda Pillars and Roger Whitaker.

In keeping with Jeffery's wishes, cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life will be held later in the summer of 2025, with the date to be shared with friends and family via Facebook once finalized.
