Jeanette Lorayne (Westphal) Ruse 88, born May 28, 1935 in Long beach, California and later grew up in Grandville, Michigan. Daughter of John and Gertrude (DuBois) Westphal. She had a great love for God and passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024, with her family by her side.

Jeanette married Roger Alberda in 1954 and together they raised six children in Byron Center, Michigan. She enjoyed scrapbooking, board games and playing cards.  She was a pet lover and enjoyed her 5 cats.

She is survived by five children: Michael (April) Alberda, Gregory (Judy) Alberda, Susan Hoogeveen, Brian (Lorie) Alberda, and Patricia Farrell; as well as two grandchildren: Nathan Nielsen and McKenna Nielsen whom she raised after their mom passed away. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents John and Gertrude Westphal, daughter Beth Nielsen, granddaughter Alissa Farrell, great grandson Bellamy Alberda, her late husband Robert Ruse, her former husband Roger Alberda, sister Mary Westphal Grasiewicz, nephew Darwin Miller, niece Mary Gray. She will be greatly missed by her family, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on May 5, 2024 at 6pm at Byron Center Baptist church.
