Obituary

Myla Jean (Jeannie) Lowing Harter passed away February 8, 2022 after a short illness. The Lord told her it was time to come home. She had waited for that call for so long. She was four months short of her 99th birthday. A foster parent for years she was known as the lady with 80 babies. At the same time she was an expert seamstress and made countless wedding and bridesmaid dresses as well as formal and informal clothing and quilts. She also worked as a furniture upholster for many furniture manufacturers. She is survived by her three children, Nancy (Jerry) Dyke of Pella, IA, Janet (Chuck) Skendzel-Davis of Hamilton, MI, Terry (Sally) Vissers of Allendale, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, a special foster daughter Nancy Dawn Bryant of Spring Lake, many cousins and nephews and nieces, and a long line of lifetime friends. A celebration of her life will be held February 18 at the LifeTree Community Church 10933 Lake Michigan Drive, West Olive, MI. Friends and relatives are invited to meet with the family at 1 PM with the celebration service beginning at 2 PM with Pastor Jeff Elzinga. A luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers please donate in her memory to Fountain View Assisted Living in Coopersville, MI, or LifeTree Community Church in West Olive. Service Details.
