IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jason David
Hesser
November 20, 1973 – May 23, 2025
Jason David Hesser, a beloved father, son, nephew, brother, and friend, passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 51. Born on November 20, 1973, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jason's vibrant spirit and courageous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He passed away peacefully at his aunt's home in Martin, Michigan, after a long and brave battle with congestive heart failure.
Jason attended Plainwell High School. A man of many passions and talents, he was the proud owner and operator of Affordable Siding, and later, The Ganja Grow Company. He had a deep love for nature and growing, constantly striving for the perfect tincture made with natural herbs.
Jason treasured his family above all else. He deeply valued the time spent with loved ones and held those memories close—especially the photographs that captured them. His collection of family photos tells a story of love, laughter, and connection, which now offer comfort to those he leaves behind. He loved camping, fishing, and gathering with friends and family around a good bonfire. He also loved making his famous lasagna dish for many family gatherings. These were the moments where he felt most at peace—surrounded by nature, laughter, and the people he loved.
He lived life on his own terms, always forging his own path—no matter the cost. He often dreamed of the day he could ride off into the sunset on a motorcycle, free and fearless, the wind in his hair and peace in his heart.
He was known for his quick wit and unique sense of humor. Jason had a knack for sparking conversation and could always be counted on to share the latest conspiracy theory—his perspective was one-of-a-kind, delivered with just enough passion to make you wonder.
His love for music was lifelong, beginning with his early admiration of bands like Metallica and Poison. In later years, he became a devoted fan of Tom MacDonald, eagerly awaiting each new album release with genuine excitement. Music was not just entertainment for Jason—it was a connection to his emotions, his beliefs, and his unfiltered self.
Jason is survived by his beloved children, Debra Hesser, Elizabeth Pendelton, and Brandon Pendelton. He is also survived by his extended family, including his devoted aunts and uncles: Cyndy and Roger Siebert, Theresa and Steve Borst, Carl and Chris Hesser, and Carol Borst. His siblings include Andrew Perkins Tresha Handley, Marty Ellzey and William Perkins. His cousins—Colton Murphy, Chanell Murphy, Lexi Sulka and Autumn Schmidt were more like siblings to him and held a very special place in his heart. Jason's memory will also be cherished by numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Debra Hesser at the age of nine; his grandparents, Jack and Violet Hesser; his uncle, Garry Hesser; his sibling Trevor Perkins, and stepfather Brent Perkins. Their heavenly reunion brings comfort to those he leaves behind, imagining their joyful embrace.
Those who knew Jason were touched by his warm demeanor, infectious energy, and unwavering courage. His resilience in the face of adversity inspired all who walked beside him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, humor, and determination.
Jason David Hesser — your life was a gift, your memory a treasure, and you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
