May 31, 2014 Janet M. Pickerd, age 66, of Grand Rapids,suddenly left to be with our Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2014. Born February 10, 1948 in Traverse City, Mi she is a graduate of St. Frances Catholic School and National Institute of Technology with honors. She is preceded in death by her father William Baray. She is survived by her mother Monica Yetter, sister Nancy Gudith of Traverse City and brother Thomas Baray of Caro . Grieving for her loss are her two children son John (Katie) R. Pickerd Jr of Coopersville and daughter Jennifer (Allen) Davis of Wyoming; along with her grandchildren Justin, Michael, Mark, Aleah, Tyler and Ava. She also leaves behind a loving niece, nephew and 3 great nieces. A selfless woman, she gave when she had little or nothing to give. Her children and grandchildren were most certainly her pride and joy. Faced with many heath complications over a number of years, Janet was a fighter. She refused to give up regardless of what she was faced with until our good Lord called her home. May she rest peacefully and be free. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Parish 224 Carrier St NE, Grand Rapids, Mi 49505.
