Jane Marjorie (Williams) Ruiter, born June 22, 1944, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Laurel Oaks in South Haven.

She was preceded in death by bother parents, John & Marjorie Williams; son, Johnny Bufong; brother, David Williams; sister, Becky Ackerson; and brother-in-law, Marvin Ackerson.

She is survived by her husband, Jon A. Ruiter; four stepchildren; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Jane received her Master of Fine Arts from Western Michigan University. She was a published author and an expert in horseback riding dressage.

Jane will be remembered always for her love of reading, Caribbean music, horses and nature.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held later. Memorial contributions may be made to the Van Buren Animal Shelter or the American Cancer Society.
