IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jane
Kekic
March 12, 1947 – September 30, 2025
Jane Kekic, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity that touched everyone who had the joy of knowing her. She was 78.
Born on March 12, 1947, Jane lived life with a spirited heart and a sharp wit that brought smiles to every room she entered. A proud Catholic, her faith guided her actions and gave her strength throughout her life.
Jane loved deeply and gave freely — of her time, her energy, and her heart. She was the kindest and most generous person you'd ever want to meet, always ready with a warm hug, a thoughtful gesture, or a quick-witted comment that made you laugh out loud.
Family was everything to Jane, especially her nine cherished grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She delighted in every moment spent with them — from family gatherings full of food and laughter to simple, everyday conversations she treasured deeply.
Jane was a fierce Detroit Tigers fan, a card shark at the table, and the first to say yes to a spontaneous casino trip. Whether she was sharing a laugh with friends, traveling to new places, or sitting around the table playing cards, she found joy in the little things and lived life to the fullest.
Her presence was magnetic, her heart expansive, and her love unconditional. To know Jane was to be loved by her — truly, deeply, and without reservation.
She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring smiles, laughter, and comfort to those who loved her most. She will be missed more than words can express.
Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Florence; father, Ellsworth; her first husband, Ronald (d. 2002); her second husband, Nicholas (d. 2008); and her siblings, Ellsworth "Andy," Jerry, Florence, and Gloria. She is survived by her siblings, Jean and James; her five children — Brian, Kevin (Jodi), Vicky (Tim), Timothy, and Paul (Sara); and her nine cherished grandchildren: Calum, Audri, Alaina, Sky, Aiden, Zoe, Gabrielle, Cameron, and Alairon.
Jane's later years were filled with love and companionship, shared with her devoted partner, Lonnie, who remained by her side until the end.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful help and care provided by Hospice of Grand Rapids, and to the staff at Commonwealth Senior Living for their commitment to Jane's care during her journey with dementia.
In lieu of flowers, Jane's family asks that donations be made to a charity near and dear to her heart: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .

A Celebration of Life will be held at VFW Post #2780 3400 Veterans Dr. Traverse City, Michigan beginning at 1:00 PM and continuing throughout the evening.
