Jamil Farhoud Karadsheh, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, August 17th in Hastings surrounded by his family. Jamil is survived by his wife; Henriette, children; Deena Whitbeck, Adli (Rita), Emad, grand-children; Alexander, Lydia, Amelia, brother; Akram, sisters; Insaf, Ragda, Ghada, and many nephews & nieces. Jamil will always be remembered, by his family and loved ones, as the brave pioneer who took the first courageous steps to travel to America. He was a devoted father, loving brother, and committed friend to those who had the privilege of knowing him. A funeral service for Jamil will be held on Tuesday, August 22 at 11AM with visitation one hour prior at Saint Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2250 E Paris Ave SE. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM with a Trisagion service at 8PM all at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE.
