IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James William
Armstrong
March 23, 1961 – February 16, 2022
James W. Armstrong of Kentwood, Michigan, age 60, passed away February 16, 2022. He was born to William and Karyl (Parks) Armstrong on March 23, 1961 in Grand Rapids, MI, the middle child of five children.
Jim graduated from East Kentwood high school in 1980. Jim's children were his biggest point of pride and dedication and he worked very hard doing whatever it took to support them. He spent his free time in his garage, with his brother Dave, or one of his many friends. He loved listening to music, watching sports, or anything to do with classic cars. He later married Julie Armstrong and proudly served as the stepfather to her children.
James is survived by his beloved first and second wife Janna Brackett and Julie Armstrong; loving children Michael (Vanessa) Armstrong, Jennifer Armstrong, and David (Jessica) Armstrong; stepchildren Joel (Jenn), Zack, Nick, and Samantha Priest; brothers, David (Anne) Armstrong, Mark (Jodi) Armstrong, Paul Armstrong and sister Melissa (John) Iverson; many grandchildren who he loved and cherished and his special sidekick Farley.
James was preceded in death by his parents William (Tom) and Karyl (Parks) Armstrong.
The family would like to thank Julie Armstrong and Faith Hospice for their care and compassion during Jim's illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held at West Leanord Banquet Hall previously known as Knight's of Columbus on Saturday April 23 from 2pm to 7pm. 1140 Muskegon Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504
