James Stokes, a commercial painter and life-long resident of Michigan, died unexpectedly on February 25, 2022 at the age of 57 while at his home in Zeeland, Michigan.

James is survived by his father, James Stokes; his siblings Maxine Grinwis, Donald Mulder, Robin Mulder, David Stokes, and Michael Stokes; his children, Theresea, Tanya, Tasha, Josh, Jeremiah, Jacob, and Jordan; and his two best friends Starlene Warners, and Matthew Baisch. He is predeceased by his mother Barbara.

James was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 1, 1964 to James and Barbara Stokes. He spent much of his time riding and tuning up his Harley Davidson motorcycle. James enjoyed Lake Little Star, the large pond located on the property he called home. There he was accompanied by one of his best friends Starlene (Star) Warners and his twin sons, Jacob and Jordan Stokes. James loved bringing the twins up to Mackinac City where they made many
memories camping and walking across the Mackinac Bridge on labor day.
