James L. Rittersdorf, age 95, of Grand Rapids, residing at Beacon Hill assisted living, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025. He was born on April 11, 1930, to Frank & Katherine (Gasper) Rittersdorf.

Jim worked as a farmer and later as a letter carrier for the USPS. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army achieving the rank of Corporal. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany).

Jim met Betty on a blind-square dance date. Jim later married Betty D. Bradfield on October 5, 1971. Jim enjoyed coffee, pancakes and chatting with family and friends. In earlier years he enjoyed square-dancing with Betty and singing with the Lowell Showboat chorus.

Survivors include his wife, Betty and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers and several nieces and nephews.

Family would like to thank Faith Hospice and Atrio-help at home for their compassionate care of Jim in his final days.

Per Jim's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Interment will be at Graceland Memorial Gardens.
