James Hueston Palmer, 87, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018. He was born on February 13th, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. James is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Talitha Sanders, Oliver Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Ronnie Johnson and Billy Johnson. James is survived by his wife, Sarah (Woods); children, James Edward (Rochelle), Larry, Steven, Rhonda (Vincent) Fox; siblings, Georgia Spaulding, Janet Lindsey, Michael Johnson and Maydelin Bracy; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. James served 2 years in the Marines and was a Post Office manager for 33 years. He was loved and highly respected by his entire family. Visitation for James will be Friday, September 21 from 7-9 pm at Ofield Funeral Home (4500 Kalamazoo Ave. Kentwood, Michigan, 49508) A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, September 22 at 2 pm at Kingdom Life Ministries (2317 Kalamazoo Ave, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49507)
