IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James "Jim"
Lindberry
July 25, 1943 – September 20, 2025
James Albert Lindberry, known to most as Jim, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born on July 25, 1943, Jim grew up in the Grand Rapids area. He later raised his family in Portage, and built a life rooted in love and faith. A proud graduate of Western Michigan University, he remained a lifelong Broncos fan. Jim had a successful 35-year career with Upjohn before retiring to Lake Leelanau, where he and his wife embraced the beauty and pace of northern Michigan before returning back to Chippewa Lake.
Jim was a true family man whose greatest joy came from time spent with his wife and his girls. He and Patricia ("Pat"), his wife of 60 years, created countless memories together at their cottage in Chippewa Lake, MI, condo in Pine Island, FL, and home in Lake Leelanau, MI. Their life together was marked by adventure; whether traveling the Great Loop in their boat, exploring Europe, or enjoying the simple pleasures of boating, snowmobiling, and visiting wineries.
He found happiness on the water, at the hunting cabin in Luther, and through his love of country music. He passed on his passions to his family, leading by example and instilling an appreciation for tradition.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife Pat; his three daughters and their families: Cheri (Tom) Westcott and their children, Brandon and Carly; Chris (Greg Morsaw) Henry and her twin sons, Justin (Amber) and Tyler; and Cory (Andy) Leslie and their children, Collin, Catelyn, Cristen, and Cameron. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Lindberry; his mother, Irma Lindberry; his brother, Jerry Lindberry; and his sister, Arlene Arntz.
Jim will be remembered for his devotion to family, gathering his loved ones together in prayer, and his talent for writing poetry. His words and his presence will continue to live on in the many memories he leaves with those fortunate enough to know him. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will take place to honor Jim on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Chippewa Township Community Building (10467 19 Mile Road, Rodney, MI 49342).
