James Herbert Kemp Jr., of Muskegon, Michigan passed away on October 4, 2025 at the age of 86. He was born April 30, 1939 in Asheville, NC to James Herbert Kemp Sr and Rosa Lee (Lance) Kemp.

James served in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Following his military service, he pursued a career as a plant safety and engineering manager.

He is survived by his wife Betty (Blink) Kemp, whom he wed on August 2, 1968. Jim and Betty raised four children: Terri (Matthew) Sernau; Traci (Ronald) Burns; Craig Kemp; and Kurt Kemp. Jim is grandfather to six: Jared, Jeremy, Brett, Troy, Haylie, and Laney.

Outside of work and family life, Jim found joy in the outdoors. He enjoyed playing golf and tending to his property. He also had a passion for restoring cars.

Jim's life was one of service, craftsmanship, and devotion to those closest to him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to all who knew him.
