On Thursday, January 9, 2025, James "Jim" Robert Tomlinson passed quietly into the arms of Jesus.  Jim was born December 25, 1949, in Lexington, Kentucky.  He attended school in Lexington, KY and lived in Green Valley, Arizona before residing in Portage, Michigan.  He served in the United States Army Reserves.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Tomlinson and Gertha McQuinn, his stepchildren, Julie Hamilton-Maly and Jeff Hamilton, and his nephew, Steve Watson.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Tomlinson, his sister, Betty Watson (of Lexington, Kentucky), and his children, Christy Tomlinson, Melissa Tomlinson (Jerae Martin), and Joseph Tomlinson (Angie) (of Lexington, Kentucky), and Andrea Madison (of Savannah, Georgia) He was also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The Celebration of Life service for Jim will be held February 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Kalamazoo Free Methodist Church, 931 Maple Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
