James Hoogewind,Jr, age 75, passed from this life to his Heavenly home on Saturday, August 9, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born to Beatrice and James Hoogewind Sr on September 10, 1949.

Jim loved everything about the hospitality and food industry. He retired from Sysco Foods after 44 years of service.  He was an avid NASCAR fan. He managed to talk one grandson into watching with him whenever possible. He loved to travel and try different cuisines from other states and countries.  He also loved spending time at the beach and spending time with his grandchildren.  He enjoyed watching the granddaughters participate in theater and musical productions at school.

Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nan Hoogewind, his daughter Jill Stevens (Kevin), and son James Hoogewind III. He also leaves his grandchildren Emmerson Stevens, Ellyott Stevens, Eden Stevens, Enya Stevens, Jonah Hoogewind, Peyton Hoogewind, and Jack Hoogewind. He leaves his siblings: Bonnie Nagelkirk (Harold), Mike Hoogewind (Cindy), Nancy Verhey (Tom), Roger Hoogewind (Collette), and Beth Gilbert (Jim). He leaves many nieces and nephews as well.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
